You've just defeated the Elite Four for the 427th time on Diamond and Pearl. They sit around, dumbfounded. How could this have happened? "I know" announced Cynthia, who is still considered The Champion no matter how many times you thrash her. "Let's change our teams for Platinum". The rest is history.

As is now standard the bunch have different teams before and after you unlock the National Dex. Hence the first team is the one you'll initially battle. They might have changed some of their weaker Pokémon to some more powerful ones, but generally the Elite Four now use slightly lower levels.

Before the National Dex

Aaron

	Aaron is actually weaker than he was previously. Dustox and Beautifly have gone, Yanmega and Scizor have come in. His Pokémon have generally lost 3-4 levels.

Bertha

	Bertha has lost Sudowoodo and Quagsire and gained Rhyperior and Gliscor. Ouch. Ouch. Again her Pokémon have generally lost levels however - her Golem is a whole 7 levels weaker than it was in DP.

Flint

	Away go Steelix, Lopunny and Drifblim (surprisingly, given Flint is supposed to have Fire type Pokémon) and in come Houndoom, Flareon and Magmortar. Again he's lost some levels though. For example, his Rapidash is 5 levels junior to his DP counterpart.
